Cooking Methods.

Cooking methods are a culinary technique that raw foods through


the application of heat are modified for your consumption. There are
many foods that require a chemical modification to make them
digestives and there are also foods that can be eaten raw, but by
cooking can make them more flavorful and tasty, modifies their
appearance and texture, and their health guarantee is increased
because cooking destroys almost all microorganisms.
Cooking Methods are divided into two basic groups: Dry Heat, and
Moist-Heat.
Dry Heat Cookery Methods is nothing worth that the food being
cooked without the use of water. The food is left dry and heat is
applied to cook the food. Such methods of cooking are: baking,
steaming, grilling, and roasting. When heat is applied to the food, the
food cooks in its own juice or the water added to the food during its
preparation evaporates during the heating process and this cooks the
food.
Moist Heat Cookery Methods are those in which liquid is added as a
medium to cook the food. The most used liquids are water and oil, but
coconut cream could be used as well. These liquids could be added to
the food before heat is applied to it or sometimes heat is applied to
the liquid before the food is added into the cooking utensils to be
cooked. The moist heat cookery methods include: boiling, stewing,
shallow frying, deep frying, barbequing and basting.
