Gamified Exploration of Virtual Spaces - 2

Since Milestone 1, the programming for the doors to open in the game were completely
redone as it wouldnt work correctly before. There is a Heads Up Display that has more
information about the rooms the player is visiting as well as how many trophies have been
collected. The trophies that are collected reappear in a display case so the player can see his
progress. The positioning of the trophies has been corrected as well. Empty rooms now have
textures and objects. Theres a main menu with placeholder art for now as well as an end
screen. The game has been programmed to trigger the end game screen upon collection of all the
trophies. There is a placeholder for a pre-game cinematic, which would be Purdue Petes
floating head to explain why the player needs to explore Knoy Hall, as well as a post-game
cinematic of Purdue Petes floating head telling the player if the player found all the trophies or
not. We created a 3D model of Purdue Petes head for the player to interact with to see if the
player has collected all the trophies or not. We have submitted our project experiment to the
Purdue IRB and are waiting for the results.
