An eyes that saw,

An eye can fail,

An eye to claw,

And thus, leave pale.

Schizophrenia: A psychosis marked by introversion, disassociation, inability to

distinguish reality from delusion etc.

Sheila slept on through the morning, the medicines had finally taken effect at
around three am and in her stupor, even the usuals hadn’t spoken to her. It wasn’t
possible not to dream though, in a world where she was basically alone, besahara,
as they called it, her dreams were visions of her reality, and nothing could stop
them,

She didn’t think it fair that the people around her had deemed her insane. How
would they know what reality was? Weren’t they all just thoughts anyways? All the
Hindu scriptures spoke of this world to be just space, a creation of our minds. “We
think, therefore we are”. “Cogito, ergo, sum”. Isn’t that what Rene Descartes had
spoken of? True, it was over 1500 years ago, but it was still spoken of widely around
the globe. So what is she believed the world to be different to what others thought!
They shouldn’t be able to lock her up. What it the world they saw wasn’t the real
world and hers was. They would never know the truth like she did! For she knew
what was real, she knew the truth. It was probably another of the conspiracies
plotted against her.

Since Sheila was a child her mother had beaten her. She had been forced into
submission and a destructive marriage. The old man wanted to hurt her; she had
heard the assassins outside her windows at night when he had thought her to be
asleep. That last night, she could have sworn to have seen a murderous glint in his
eyes. If she hadn’t killed him, it would have been her own funeral she was going to.
