ABDF is a square of lengths 1 units

let A be at coordinate (0,0), B (1,0), D (1,1), F (0,1)

line EB has equation y = -2x + 2

line IC is a mirror line and at right angles to EB. Both lines intersect at (3/4, ½,)

line IC has equation y = ½x + 1/8

I therefore has coordinates (0, 1/8 ) and C coordinate (1, 5/8)

ED has length ½ unit, DC has length 3/8 unit, triangle EDC is right angle therefore EC has length
5/8 unit, also same as BC

EC and HI are parallel, angles HIG and ECD are the same therefore triangles HIG and ECD are
similar

therefore length IG is 5/24 units

length AG is therefore 1/8 + 5/24 = 8/24 = 1/3 units long

Line GJ cuts the original square at 1/3rd.
