Alcohol can come in many different forms but usually in liquid forms.

There are
many different types of alcohol; these include cruisers, beer, spirits, sherry port, table
wine and mixed drinks. All types of alcohol have a certain percentage of alcohol.

Standard drinks are different because every standard drink contains a different
amount of alcohol. A standard drink is any drink that contains approximately 10
grams of alcohol. For men it is not recommended to have more than 6 standard
drinks a day, and for woman it is not recommended to have more than four
standard drinks on any day. Exceeding the limit could lead to long term effects of
drinking.

The short term effects of drinking alcohol are:
- Getting drunk
- Hangovers
- Headaches
- Nausea
- Shaking
- Possible Vomiting and Memory Loss
When someone drinks alcohol heavily over a certain amount of time, it can make
the person physically and mentally dependant on alcohol.
The long term effects of drinking alcohol are:
- Damage body parts such as the liver and heart
- It can cause possible depression
- Getting problems at school, work and relationships
It can increase the risks for:
- Epilepsy
- Stroke
- Heart Failure
- Damaged hearing
- Oesophagus, liver and larynx cancer
You must be over the age of 18 to be able to purchase alcohol, but people under the
age of 18 may purchase alcohol as long as theyre accompanied by an adult.
