Research Assignment: Nonferrous Metals And Alloys

Nowadays, entrepreneurs and industries have a wide option of
materials for use in the manufacture and elaboration of their products.
One of the materials that have been applied continuously in industries are
non-ferrous metals and alloys. According to Kalpakjian and Schmid,
nonferrous metals have numerous important applications because of such
properties as good corrosion resistance, high thermal and electrical
conductivity, low density, and ease of fabrication.
By visiting the website of The Aluminum Association, they highlight
the advantages of using aluminum, which includes mobility, sustainability
and economy. They also point out that aluminum is used worldwide today.
The website still shows manufacturing processes and how to recycle, there
is information about the different types of aluminum.
The website of the International Magnesium Association, describes
itself as a means of promoting the use of magnesium, there is information
about manufacturing processes, types of application, and patterns. The
website of the International Titanium Association and the Copper
Development Association follow the same patterns of the websites listed
above. Both have application information, such as welding and fusing,
information research and types of titanium and copper.
The website of the Metal Powder Industries Federation proposes only
general information and conference information. It is not as specific as the
other. There is basic information on refractory metals.
To conclude, the website of The Aluminum Association is providing
more information about the metal, followed by the International
Magnesium Association, Copper Development Association, International
Titanium Association and Metal Powder Industries Federation.
