1. Read this page from a travel guide. Then write short answers to the
questions:

Tour of Istanbul
Three hours
This tour starts at the Istanbul Hotel in the
European part of the city. Istanbul sits on two
continents Europe and Asia. So first, you can
walk over the Galata Bridge and get an amazing
view of these two regions. Then visit the Topkapi
Palace. This is the old sultans palace, but these
days its a museum. At the palace, you can look at
the exhibits of art, jewelry and traditional
clothes of the sultan. Next go shopping in the
Gran Bazaar. Its kind of like a shopping mall, but
its old and historic! You can buy a million things in
the Grand Bazaar spices, clothes, carpets, and
souvenirs. Finally, enjoy some Turkish tea and
coffee outside at a caf and meet visitors from
around the world.

You can see the continents of Europe and Asia.
b. What is the Topkapi Palace now?
Topkapi Palace is now a museum
c. What can you see at the Topkapi Palace?
In the palace, you can see art exhibitions, traditional jewelry
and clothes of the Sultan.
d. What is the Grand Bazaar like?

The Gran Bazaar Its kind of like a shopping mall, but its old and
historic.
e. What can you drink at an outdoor caf?
You can drink some Turkish tea and coffee.

2. Write a page similar to this one about your country or city. Use the
grammar and vocabulary learnt in unit 9.

Lima is located in the department of Lima


and is the capital of Peru. You can walk on
the Green Coast and see the Pacific Ocean.
You can then visit the Palace of Government.
This palace is located in the Plaza de Armas.
Next to the palace is the Jiron de la Union. It
is something like a large shopping center
where you can buy clothes, televisions, cell
phones and much more. Finally, you can
enjoy food from different departments of
Peru in restaurants that are around the Plaza
de Armas.
