Celebrate Christmas with a Cause

Adoption and Fundraising event for CAA

WHAT: Santa Paws Festival is a new Christmas adoption and fundraising event for Companion
Animal Alliance (CAA). Dogs and cats from CAA will be available for adoption. A donation tent
will be set up on the union side of the Parade Grounds. CAA is in need of toys, treats, blankets,
towels, leashes, collars and cleaning supplies. Monetary donations will also be welcome.
We encourage attendees to bring their own pets. There will be lots of fun activities to
participate in with your animals including: finger painting, personalized ornaments and stocking
making, agility courses and photo opportunities with Santa. Photos with Santa will be available
for pickup at the event and all proceeds will go toward CAA. Food, beverage, pet supply, animal
product, clothing, and jewelry venders will be available for purchase with 25% of the proceeds
going to CAA. Local bands and choirs will be preforming throughout the day, as well as
Americas Got Talent 2010 contestant Bert Davis and the Muttley Crew.
GOAL: The organization has set two goals: 35 adoptions and raise $5,000 in donations, vender
percentages and photos with Santa. If successful, Santa Paws Festival will become an annual
fundraising event.
WHY: CAA strives to find forever homes for as many animals as possible. The organization
hopes this event will discredit the stereotypes of shelter animals and promote pet adoption. The
funds from this event will enable CAA to expand its facility in order to take in more homeless
animals and further provide for animals at the shelter.
