Introduction about the model

Fracture mechanics is introduced into finite element analysis as a new model.
Stresses are assumed to act across a crack as long as it is narrowly opened.

Proposed approach
Similar to the Barenblatt model
It can be applied to all the three modes.

Conclusion
The proposed method seems to yield realistic results regarding crack formation and propagation .
This method gives better result for coarse mesh also.
This gives opportunity to study complicated problems with limited computing facility.
