Project Plan Worksheet, Spring 2015

Student: Benjamin Becker

Advisor: Lundie

Project Title: Plight of the Bee

Project Description: Describe the project briefly.
Bees are disappearing and people need to know how that affects them and what they can do.
Rationale: Why do you want to understand or be able to do this? How does it connect to your interest,
passion or future goals? Bees are crucial to providing us with food and keeping our planet beautiful; and
yet they are disappearing.
I would like to design a series of infographics that organize the information surrounding the topic.
This would make it more easily accessible. This connects to my interest in graphic design.
Focusing Questions: Write some questions that spark your curiosity about this topic to both help you
focus and to keep your curiosity engaged throughout your exploration. It should be a mix of open-ended
and closed questions. Click HERE for a guide to EQs.
Why are bees disappearing?
Why should we care?
What steps can we take to help?
Evidence/Artifacts: What will you produce to demonstrate what you have learned?
Infographic on what CCD is and why its happening
Infographic on why the public should care and what they can do (Posted in school/On Pine Street)
Bee Buttons (Will be giving them out during my exhibition)
Assessment: How will you know and show that you have met the goals of your project?
How will you show the quality of your evidence? When you complete each, create a hyperlink to each
completed form.
DONE Meet with your advisor about the Pre-Assessment Rubric for Independent Projects..
DONE Use the Project Evaluation Rubric 2015 to create a customized rubric to assess your project.
Becoming Proficient: How will this project address one or more of the BPSB proficiency-based
graduation requirements?
This project covers the address complex problems proficiency under the Civic and Social
Responsibility Domain
Resources: What other sources will you look at to help you learn this or answer this question or complete
this project? (mentors, websites, books, etc.--please be specific: which books? which website? what is
the name of the person who will help?)
