Dear Parents,
Just a few brief notices:
Thank you to those parents who allowed their names to go forward for election to the schools
Board of Management. The counting of votes took place last Friday and Margaret Culliton (mum
to Danh 5th & Mai Li 1st) and John Paul Reddin (dad to Katlyn 1st and JJ Sen. Infants) have been
elected to represent parents views for 2015-2019.
Date for your diary: the Christmas concerts will take place as follows
-Wednesday 16th December 12.00 - 2.30 p.m. --- Junior Infants, Senior Infants, 1st & 2nd.
- Thursday 17th December 12.00 2.30 p.m. --- 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th
- A further letter regarding tickets, rehearsal timetable etc will issue closer to the concerts.
3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th went bowling to Roll n Bowl last week. Sponsored by Media Scene Technology
(interactive Whiteboard suppliers), it was a terrific success.
3rd & 4th classes have commenced a sponsored Readathon for November. Both classes are reading
books at an enormous rate!
5th & 6th classes have begun preparation for a 4km fun run/walk. The children (and one or two
teachers!) will run/walk around The Rock GAA club at the end of November.
Date for your diary: The A.G.M. for the Parents Council takes place on Monday 23rd
November 6.30-7.30 p.m. All parents invited.
A massive 154 Team Hope shoeboxes are bound for children who are less well off than those at
our school!!! A huge contribution by our families to a very worthy causemle buochas ars!
School times: 9.00 to 1.40pm (Inf.) and 2.40p.m (1st-6th). Please ensure that your child is on time
and that they are collected on time. Children are not supervised by staff outside of these times.
The car park at the Mountmellick end of the school is for school staff only. Please do not park in
yellow boxes.
HSE will attend the school on 30th Nov & 1st December regarding Senior Infant hearing and
eyesight examination.
Ms. Sarah OConnell, Road Safety Authority, will speak to children in all classes regarding road
safety on 1st & 2nd December. This is a good opportunity for parents to discuss road safety with their
child.
