ea ~ Z KANARA Entrepreneurs KE Emerging Entrepreneur Business Plan Contest Introduction Kanara Entrepreneurs (KE) Global is a non-profit organization established for the growth and development of entrepreneurs, corporate executives and professionals. It operates through chapters in Dubai and Bangalore and associated affiliates in Mumbai and Mangalore. ‘The primary purpose of KE Global is to bring together it's member chapters with the goal of encouraging, supporting and nurturing entrepreneurship in business, industry and service sectors. This will leverage dissemination of useful knowledge, skills and techniques for the development of businesses, industries, professions, vocations and professional pursuits by entrepreneurs through it's member chapters. KE Global in association with it's affillate ‘Dimensions’ in Mumbai conducts a global convention for Entrepreneurs titled 'Entreprenet’, once every two years. The next Entreprenet-2014 is scheduled to be held in Bangalore on Jan 31 - Feb 1, 2014. As part of Entreprenet-2014, KE Global proposes to conduct a business plan contest in various locations in India and overseas and have the three final contestants present the plans at Entreprenet-2014. The objective is to promote entrepreneur talent, tap the right potential and then mentor as well as provide initial capital to the finalists. The preliminary rounds will be conducted in various locations ~ Mangalore, Bangalore and Mumbai during the period April ~ Oct 2013. Each location will have host centres that will co-ordinate all activities relating to the preliminary rounds. Three best plans from each location will make it to the finals in Bangalore in Nov/Dec 2013. The three best will be given an opportunity to present the business plans at Entreprenet-2014 to over 400 entrepreneurs and professionals who will then judge the best plan Eligibility The contest is open to all through registration at a specific location (host centre), Entry Submissions jess contest. a) There are no entry fees for participating in this bu b) Each plan will be presented by no more than TWO contestants who have to be the brain behind the business plan. ¢) The contestants will bear their own expenses for preparing these plans and for travel/stay (if required) during the days of presentation for the initial rounds. d) The three finalists will get a free registration for Entreprenet-2014. Hotel accommodat provided for the finalists by the organizers. Travel expenses for outstation candidates (finalists, two per submission) will be reimbursed for A/c Bus or 2 tier AC rail fare as approp: ) The business idea chosen should be technically and commercially viable, unique and aim towards furthering, Impacting or revolutionizing a particular industry, community, government etc, ) The business plan must be submitted in the format specified (attached). 9) All submissions are through soft coples attached to email (pdf formats) to the specified email address of the organizers. No hard copies will be accepted. h) A declaration that the content of the business plan is the original idea of the submitting party and not copied published, copyrighted material. The submitting party Is totally responsible for any claims or counter claims in thisregard Presentation of Business Plan All submissions will be scrutinized by the review committee and if shortlisted, the contestants will be provided an ‘opportunity to present the business plan at one of the host centres on the presentation dates. The contestant must mark his/her attendance at least half an hour before the start of the event, Each entry will be given 15 minutes to present the business plan and, the jury and audience will be given 5 minutes to question the contestants. The presenters shall be provided with LCD/OH projectors and thus may prepare accordingly. Stress will be on the current void in the market and how the plan fills this void, applied research on the idea, ‘commercial viability, technical feasibility, team, finance plan, competition and impact of government policies. During the presentation of the business plans, the contestants will get an opportunity to listen to some successful entrepreneurs and professionals on the key aspects of setting up a business plan and the challenges of translating aplan on paperto reality. Important Dates Business Plan Submission Deadline: 31" July 2013, Intimations for Presentation will be notified to all shortlisted around 15” August 2013, Presentations of all shortlisted business plans will be held in Mumbai (Venue will be informed to Participants) in the last week of August and September 2013 Finalists Three shortlisted contestants from each host centre will make it to the semi-finals in Bangalore. The finals will be conducted in Nov/Dec 2013. Each selected participant must mark his/her attendance at least half an hour before the start of the event. Each entry will be given 15 minutes to present the business plan and, the jury and audience will be given 5 minutes to question the contestants. The presenters shall be provided with LCD/OH projectors and thus may prepare accordingly. General Terms & Conditions All entries submitted may be reproduced by KE Global in oral/written/digital/print or any other media present now or in the future, with due credit to its author(s) In the event of any dispute/clarification etc., the organizing committee's decision will be final Prize Money & Investment Opportunities ‘The Winner will be presented with a cheque for Rs. 1 Lakh during Entreprenet-2014 along with a trophy from KE Global ‘The 1nrunner-up will be presented with a cheque for Rs. 60,000 and the 2nerunner-up with a cheque of Rs. 40,000. ‘The finalists get an opportunity for mentoring and funding for investment up to Rs.
