Inclusivity description
My preferred explanation of
inclusivity in teaching is as
stated by Tomlinson (1996)
Inclusive Resources
When teaching buffer

To include learners with
various levels of previous
knowledge and experience
a
variety
of
teaching
resources are used
Buffering system

Carbonic acid (H2CO3)
Water (H2O) and
Carbon Dioxide (CO2)
OR
Bicarbonate (HCO3)
and Hydrogen (-H)
And/or
way
this
In pictorial form
Carbonic Acid

Converts to
Water and carbon dioxide
Both of which are
products of expiration
H2O
&
CO2
Or
Bicarbonate, which is
an alkaline therefore
reducing the effect
of the acid, and a
free hydrogen ion
which is excreted in
urine

By providing the information in 2
ways, factually in the form of
formulae and visually using the
coloured and marked balls, learners
of different abilities and prior
knowledge are able to understand
and retain the chemical changes.
