FaceBook, Twitter, and Instagram has made it easy to stay in touch with people you live with or with people across the globe. Many teachers have said that texting and other technological advances such as social media have ruined students writing with shorthand abbreviations and lack of real st . Contrary to this belief, technology and social media has helped my literacy narrative. Fhe amount of articles that I read on the intemet or social media trump the amount that Tread fa paper. Many resources are available through the internet to help improve my writing Aeading skills. Technology have helped my literacy narrative grow. Email is the most vital tool to my literacy narrative. I can send a rough draft to my sisters in college, my cousins in another state, as well as my parents to proof read it and give me feedback on how I could improve my writing or on what I am doing well. This allows me to see how different people view my writing without taking the time to print off a copy, hand deliver it, nearly impossible to do for people outside my neighborhood, wait for them to read over it and make the necessary comments and give it back to me. It would be a very time consuming process. I benefit from the multitude of perspectives I receive to improve my writing which has been made possible by the convenience and efficiency of email...» Ae Bennett 2 Another way that technology has benefitted my writing is the vast amount of knowledge that is available through the internet. I cannot count the amount of times I have pulled up a thesaurus to find a better word to replace a weaker word in my writing and, at the same time, helps me build my vooabulay, ie also looked up different sentence structure to help give variety to my writing so I don’t result in writing simple sentences throughout my compositions. The intemet also allows access to an innumerable amount of articles, blogs, books, and newspapers Which enable me to see different writing styles authors use and tailor some of these aspects to improve my own style. Although a multitude of people think that technology and social media hinders students writing skills, itis the opposite. The advancement of technology in recent years have only helped improve my literacy narrative, The internet allows access to a variety of tools to improve my writing. Email allows me to see many perspectives on how I can improve my writing as well as, what I should continue to do. As technology continues to change and advance, I believe that it Wy will improve my skills and a reader and writer in the future. : ye 6
