LEADERSHIP
Habitat for Humanity (2010 - 2012)

President - Serve as president of the St. Annes-Belfield chapter of the


national organization. Worked to revive dormant school chapter in
2010 to current membership of approximately 6o students. Work
includes building, landscaping, and cleanup at job sites in
Charlottesville.
Youth United (2010 - 2012)
Representative - As president of the St. Annes -Belfield chapter of
Habitat, I meet monthly with Habitat staff and student leaders from
other area high schools. We discuss ideas and develop fundraising
opportunities for the Charlottesville chapter of Habitat.

Community Forum (2010 - 2012)


Member - Meet weekly with other St. Annes students to discuss the
Friday community forum, a weekly school-wide assembly that
addresses issues or conflicts that need to be changed in school.
Student Ambassador at St. Annes-Belfield (2011 - 2012)
I was asked to serve as a student ambassador to work alongside the
college counseling office. I meet with college representatives, introducing
them to St. Annes Belfield and answering any questions they may have.
Student Tour Guide for Prospective Families at St. Annes- Belfield (2011 2012)
I was asked to serve as a tour guide for prospective families visiting
the school,
answering questions and telling them about
all areas of student life.

McGuffy Art Show


I have an interest in ceramics and one of my sculptures was featured
in this art show
in Charlottesville, VA (2011)
City Clay Art Show
A vase I created in Ceramics II at school this year will be featured in
the art show at
City Clay in Charlottesville, VA (May 2012)
Peer Mentors
Member - Meet with middle school students for lunch once a month to
talk about school/life and serve as a role model to the younger
students (2009)
Gold Key
Member - Provide new and visiting students with a tour guide/buddy
to show the student around the school and answer any questions
they have about school life (2009-2011)

EMPLOYMENT

Mentor (Summer 2011-2014), Charlottesville VA


Serve as a mentor, buddy, taxi driver, coach, companion, and friend to
three brothers ages 16, 14, 9. The two oldest children have fairly
severe autism. Learned to dispense medication, communicate, teach,
have fun, and diffuse potential conflicts. Worked 20-30 hours/week.
Shelter For Help In Emergency - Internship (Summer 2010), Charlottesville, VA
Worked with children and served as a jack-of-all trades, doing whatever
needed to be done, for local domestic violence shelter. Maintained
strict confidentiality. Worked 20 hours/week.
Tropical Smoothie Caf (Summer 2010), Charlottesville, VA
Responsible for preparing food, counter sales, customer service,
handling complaints. After two weeks of employment, I was given
responsibility for closing the store and making nightly cash deposits at
the bank. Worked 30-40 hours/week.
Umpire (2007-2010)
Northside Cal Ripken League, Charlottesville, VA

Passed national test to become certified Babe Ruth umpire. Umpired


little league games for 7-12 year olds behind the plate and on the
bases. I was the youngest umpire ever hired by the league.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Pacem Ministry
- Helped provide food, service, and conversation to homeless men and
women at First Baptist Church Charlottesville (2009)
Helping Hands Ministry
- Assisted every six weeks with the 4-5 year old Sunday School class
(2008-2011)
Operation Christmas Child
- Assemble boxes for Samaritans Purse, which provides shoeboxes filled
with toys and games for less fortunate children overseas every
Christmas. (2008)
Boys and Girls Club of Rockingham County (2014)
- I volunteered for 8 hours at the Boys and Girls Club. I assisted students
with
homework, did different athletic activities with them and
served as a mentor.
