Intelligence is the product of thought. It is the way that one person is distinguished from
another person. Mental age is almost like your maturity and your chronological age is your actual
age. This reminds me of the previous chapter about girl maturing two years faster than boys. The
girls chronological age is fourteen but she is mentally thinking at age sixteen. The test that is
developed for mental age is the IQ test which rates your mental maturity. For example on page
45 of the Pearson text it says, if an eight year old is answering questions that a twelve year old is
supposed to be answering, the maturity level is higher for her than her peers. Theodore simon
established a test called the 1905 scale. He gathered 50 students, 10 students from all different
age groups, who were of average intelligence.
