CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION OF STUDY

Chapter 1 helped us to understand the study of Karnataka Electricity Board


The Transmission & distribution system in the state was under the control of
Government of Karnataka state (then Mysore) till 1957. In 1957 MSEB (Mysore State
Electricity Board) was formed
In 2002 Karnataka Electricity Board was merged according to zonal wise

Bangalore Electricity Supply Company.

ABOUT INDUSTRY
BESCOM has taken over the responsibility from KPTCL for the distribution of electricity
in 8 districts & commenced in operation on June 1 st 2002

Overall the company is well managed by BESCOM. As it is monopolistic
industry. And what I understood by this project is that the company is well
managed, analyzing to solve the problem through various departments
analyzing to create new power energy stations to get power to serve all the
cities that comes under BESCOM.
