A beautiful white
wonderland
Snow in October?

Just recently on the date of October Third, 2015,the acclaimed resort Copper
Mountain rolled out their snow blowing equipment in the effort to create a wonderful
packed snow base for skiers and snowboarders. Copper wants a solid base of partial
man-made snow and natural falling snow to spread around the first few runs before
opening which is November 6th, 2015.
The excited mechanics and technicians are hard at work on the mountain to create a
fun winter playground for an awaiting summit county, they have actively started blowing

snow on an intermediate run called Andys Encore, and will continue to focus on blowing
snow around the U.S. Ski Team Speed Center. Once a solid base is laid down, that's
when the groomers are called in to do what they do best, groom and push around the
snow so that when we ski on the surface we have an enjoyable time.
Everyone is patiently awaiting Copper mountains opening date which includes a
pep rally with all your favorite olympic athletes including Ted Ligety, Lindsey Vonn, and
Mikaela Shiffrin. With so many exciting things to do this winter, Its a no brainer that
everyone wants to partake and get a jumpstart on the 2015/2016 winter season.
Last year copper was again the first summit county resort to roll out the
snowmakers in preparation for the season. Copper Mountain Resort started
snowmaking on Monday, Sept. 29, signifying the imminent start of ski and snowboard
season. More than two inches of natural snow covered the slopes when snowmaking
machines lining the Upper Andys and Copperopolis runs began dispensing their white
powder. The snowmaking was in preparation for Copper Mountains opening day on
October 31, 2014.
Just to add to the winter fun, Keystone Resort will open the same day this year,
November 6th, 2015, Arapahoe Basin plans on opening October 17th, Loveland ski
area is projected for November 2nd, Breckenridge is hoping to open their resort on
November 13th, Vail resort coming up behind opening on November 20th this season.
