Students Doe Exhibit 71 @ , Update: Seenario 7 ‘The following is a summary and update based upon the administrative meeting on October 14, 2008. At this meeting three altematives to Scenario 7 were developed. Each of these options are presented. Scenario 7 provides the following: 1. Contiguous high schoo! and middle school attendance zones. 2. Students remain with their cohorts from grades 6-12. In previous scenarios the focus was keeping K —5 children together. 3. Balanced enrollments at the high schools insure program equity. 4. Inmost cases this scenario provides shorter bus ride times for high school students. 5. One variation of scenario 7 provides an opportunity to preserve the LMHS walk zone. ‘Maps of the three scenarios are attached to this update. Those students will have the option of attending either Harriton HS or Lower Merion HS. Table 4 below show the totals with 80% of the students living in the option area choosing to attend Lower Merion HS. The totals for each high school are shown with the option area students taking the Lower Merion HS option. This scenario assumes that the middle school children will not have the option to choose which middle school they will attend. Tables 3 and 4 do not include IB Program students who would be attending Harriton HS. Scenario 7C-5 shows good balance prior to any students zoned for Harriton opting to attend Lower Merion HS.
