UnitedFishermenofAlaskaPresidentJerryMcCunereleasedthefollowingstatement:

JuneauMayorGregFiskwasawellknownleaderinAlaskafisheriesandintheJuneaucommunity,and
workedforAlaskafishermenfordecades.Hewasknownfortakingideasandselflesslyworkingtomake
themhappentohelpAlaskafishermen.AsaFisheriesSpecialistintheDivisionofEconomicDevelopment,
heworkedondozensofplanstohelpturnaroundthesalmonindustryduringsomeofthehardestyearsin
itseconomichistory.MorerecentlyhehelpedAlaskashrimpfishermenqualifyanddevelopedbusiness
resourcesUSDATradeAdjustmentAssistanceprogram.Overthelasttwoyears,hehelpedputtogethera
realisticbusinessplanforOceansAlaskatobethefirstcommercialshellfishhatcheryinAlaska,amongmany
othersignificantaccomplishments.Mostnotablyhesteppedforwardintheleadershipinhiscommunityto
beelectedasJuneaumayor.Greghadgreathopesandinspirationforembracingtheseafoodindustryand
movingJuneauforwardasthecenterofAlaskafisheriesscienceandresearch.Hewillbemissed,and
appreciatedforhiscontributionstotheAlaskafishingindustry.

UFAwillfacilitatetheengravingofGregsnameontheAlaskaFishermensMemorialatthe2016Blessingof
theFleet.FishermencancontacttheUFAofficetocontributeforthatiftheywish.
