Voki Project

Alternative assignment to Class Connect Session, Friday, December 11, 2015

Task: Create a free talking Voki character to teach a math concept. Keep this paper with you
to mark off each step of checklist!
Steps:
1. Choose any math concept to explain from the list below:
a. Ratios
b. Converting between decimals and percent
c. Unit Rate
d. Distance = rate x time
e. Long Division
f. Dividing fractions by fractions (Keep, Change, Flip)
g. Adding, Subtracting, or Multiplying Decimals
h. Euclids Algorithm
i. Ordering of positive and negative Integers on a number line
j. Ordering of positive and negative rational numbers on a number line
k. Rational Numbers vs. Integers
l. Debits vs. Credits Money problems with positive and negative numbers
m. Above and Below Sea level word problems
n. *With teacher permission- ask to explain your own idea for topic
2. Have a parent or Learning Coach with you, and go to www.voki.com
3. Register and create an account with an email and password. Come up with a password that is easy to
remember, like the word student. Write your password in your agenda, notebook, or planner.
4. Click the Create tab and customize your character.
5. When you get to the give it a voice part, use the Text option. Choose a voice that is easy to
understand. Replay your Voki over and over to check spelling, grammar, and proper explanation. Edit
and fix anything that is not understandable.
6. Publish and Name your Voki with your First Name, Last Initial (Ex: JenniferR.)
7. Send your Voki to my email: kvitatoe@nvvacademy.org

Grading Rubric: Out of 30 points:


Precision- Students use clear definitions to explain math
