regarding the trials that was scarcely covered on major outlets such as
Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC. The trial was covered for 2 hours on Fox
News, only 15 minutes on CNN, and absolutely not at all on MSNBC.
Such a big deal should have gained more coverage on media outlets.
Benghazi is a good example of under-coverage but there is also such a
thing as over-coverage such as situations like the Castro Kidnappings
and the Trayvon Martin case. Both were situations that happened
everyday but the media had put emphasis on them for whatever
reason. The Trayvon case was made about race when it wasnt even
confirmed that that is what it was about. The reason for all of these
examples is to cite that spin-doctoring and influence goes on and is as
relevant as it was in Murrows day. (Feldman, 2013)
Not having other interests influenced in News Media is
impossible but there is still a solution. Reporters need to take a stand
and take a stance on some issues. Of course places like Fox, CNN, and
MSNBC will have their own agendas, but if reporters decided to be
more aggressive and push for a different spin like Murrow there would
be a higher success rate that different views would be told. It worked
for Murrow, but he pushed a little too hard. That though, ended up
being a really good thing ultimately, but reporters should take their
cues from him and at least start to do some of the things he did right
when he started. This isnt as much of a solution as it is a strong

A. Thesis- It can be quite the ethical dilemma but if individual
reporters dont stand up for facts they see in politics and
instead are influenced by other political interests, news will
not be in a good place.
