Event to help students jump start their careers
PLATTSBURGH Ella Veta Star, the publicist for the famous actor Buck Bigwig will speak at the annual #MULLET event hosted by the Public Relations Student Society Association. Offering exposure to the professional world, the event will take place on Thursday, Nov. 8 in the Warren Ballrooms. It starts at 7 p.m. but doors open at 6 p.m. Named after the haircut, featuring business in the front and a party in the back, the #Mullet will incorporate icebreaking games and a chance to mingle with students and professionals. The idea is to foster networking skills and to provide career information. At the event, photographers from Cardinal Points will take headshots for attendees to use on LinkedIn and other professional platforms. The Career Development Center will provide more information about career-launching opportunities. Refreshments will be provided. The Public Relations Student Society of America helps students interested in public relations and communications. Headquartered in New York City, PRSSA has 300 plus chapters at different colleges across the county and in Argentina, Colombia and Peru.
