The Standandized Test That Opened my Eyes
Iisa common practice for a student to improve his or her writing skills over the course
Of their life. While everyone natural achieves this objective, everyone has a different method of
‘achieving this goal, Believe it or not, the resource that ultimately improved my writing skills was
the SAT. The SAT improved my literature skills by: raising my standards in literature
composition, lear new writing techniques to better improve the kinds of writings I would
encounter, and encouraged me to read articles and books to compose new examples.
“The SAT Writing section isa two-part category that tests the users ability to write and
correct grammatical eros. The essay section in particular included a grading system whereby
the student would ty to make a six out of six, the highest score possible. Naturally with my
mnorant mentally, attempted to take the test withoat any regards as how difficult the exam may
be, feared a two out of sx the firs time I 100k it, which obviously disturbed me, Asa result,

po‘One tip of writing that I earned over the course of my siudies was that the graders were
from different parts of the world. As a result, their philosophies may be different from one
another. This tip was very usefil in my studies, as I thought of new and unique writing styles that
would be beneficial to most English teachers, At first, I believed that providing examples about
‘my personal life and national conflicts would be sufficient. Unfortunately, while I did learn that

version of my old technique, Instead of limiting myself to two kinds of examples, I would write
three examples instead. One being about scientific calculations and statistics for math oriented
teachers, the second being about philosophy and articles for English-oriented teachers, and the
thitd discussing a personal story to further strengthen my argument. This technique was far more
effective than the first method, and as.a result, I eared a five out of six.

In order to create an effective essay, I had to have feasible examples that was not only
relevant to the subject, but provided valuable information that supported my argument, Before
iy four-month study session, my knowledge prior tothe events that occurred around me and
even my personal information was limited to me. As a result, it was near impossible to create
feasible examples that would qualify as “good” on the SAT. After realizing my lack of
