Hello Dolls,
Allow me to introduce myself! I am Nicole Faber and
I am the Editor In Chief of The Chic Spot! I hope you
enjoy our redesigned and renovated magazine. The
purpose of this magazine is to not only inform but to
also empower you. I hope you take away valuable
information from The Chic Spot but that the information
we provide you will help you. We pledge to stick to our
values of showing real women and staying focused on
the everyday woman.
Not only will this magazine have useful life tips but we
hope to bring the high-end fashion would to you but
in a way that we all can afford! Here at The Chic Spot,
we know what it is like to be the everyday woman because thats who we are. We arent trying to pretend
to be anything other than that, and we dont want you
to either! This magazine will be a place you can go to
for everything the woman truly needs.
The sections in this magazine will cater to a multitude

Briana Jackson recently graduated from Illinois State University with honors but
what is more surprising than that is within six months after graduation (wow!)
she was the head of a company headed on its way to becoming a Fortune
500. We got the chance to talk with her and learn about her story.
CS: Tell us a little about your company and what
made you get into that type of work?
BJ: My company is called Boxes 4 U. A little background about my company would be that we
run a website where you can purchase different
types of boxes for certain occasions. I know this
has been done in the past but there is something
special about ours. We dont require a monthly
subscription or anything like that and you can customize the boxes to fit your price range and for the
person or yourself that will be getting the box.

CS: That sounds interesting! What are

all the types of boxes and what types
of items go into them?
BJ: There are so many types of boxes
it would take me days to explain them
all but I can tell you about our top-sellers! We have Birthday, Anniversary,
Im Sorry, Just Because and Customize boxes are the most popular. The
Customize boxes are my favorite just
because you can go throughout our
entire inventory of items and decide

CS: What made you
think of this bussiness
and how did you create
this all on your own?
BJ: When I was studying
Event Planning

at Illinois State University I was

procrastinating ( Sorry Mom!) and
bro sing the internet during fina s
week Senior Year. I was thinking
about how I would love to get a
random package at more door
containing a few of my favorite
things to brigten my day. I was
looking up types of boxes I could
order myself and I was noticing
that cou d not find a box that
had everything I wanted in it. They
all either had extra things I didnt
want to pay for or had things I
didn t thin fit the theme o got
to thinking and decided that this
is something I should create! I told
the idea to some friends in different majors that I believed would
be able to bring something to this
newfound dream of mine and
boom! Boxes 4 U is here because
I believed in myself and pushed
myself to become what I knew
I could be deep down. I knew I
could make this dream become a
reality.
CS: How did you get your bussiness known? Do you have any secrets for the readers who are now
feeling inspired?
BJ: The way I got Boxes 4 U. out
there was by bombarding people all over my personal social
media accounts! Since this was a
start-up company I didnt have a
lot of money that I could use for
advertising! Once Boxes 4 U. was
getting some internet attention
and people were purchasing orders, I started adveritsing through
Facebook and Instagram. I did
this because they are both popular social media sites that relate
to the target audience I was
interested in reaching. Once we
started getting more business, I
reached out to popular companies and made deals with them
that if I used their products they
would get advertising from me
so that they could advertise us. It
was a win-win for both companies!
