    Kelsey attended a conference on co-teaching and implemented new co-teaching models with her cooperating teachers. She set up stations for different writing tasks that allowed her and her co-teachers to each focus on an area while students received individualized help. Finding time for students to complete assessments was challenging. Next week, Kelsey will begin co-teaching in physics class daily and co-teaching all of her classes.

    1. Howdidyouspendyourtimethisweek?Whatresponsibilitiesdidyouhave?
    ThisweekIattendedtheICLCconference.Mondaywasespeciallyinterestingbecause
    wewenttothecoteachingpresessionandbroughttwoofourthreecoteacherswithus.
    Itwasawesomegettingtodrivebackandreflectonwhatwehadlearnedaltogether.Later
    intheweekweevenimplementedsomeofthecoteachingmodelswelearnedand
    CrystalandIdecidedtofocusoncoteachingeveninthecontextoftheselfcontained
    ESLclassesinherroom,whichhasworkedincrediblywellsofar.
    2. Whatwereyourmostsatisfyingexperiences?Whatwereyourmostchallenging
    experiences?
    Oneofthebestexperienceswaswhen,afterreturningfromthepresession,wetriedouta
    coupleofthecoteachingmodelsinourIntermediateWritingclass.Thestudentsinthat
    classarenearingtheendofalongerLiteraryAnalysispiecesowesetupacouple
    stationsfortroubleshootingproblemswithIntroductions,Conclusions,Citations/Body
    Paragraphs,andanIndependentWorkstation.Eachofthethreeofusmannedoneofthe
    stationsandweleftituptothestudentswheretheythoughttheyneededthemosthelp.It
    wassuccessfulanditwasawesomeformetobeevenmoreinvolvedintheclass.
    Mybiggestchallengesinvolvedfindingtimeforthosestudentswhohaveyettofinish
    theirIowaAssessmentstodoso.SinceIdontwanttopullthemoutofotherclassesit
    endsupbeingamatteroffindingtimewhentheyhaveanoffperiodortakingthemoutof
    aclassthatIteach(andmakingupwhattheymissedlateron).
    3. Whataretheplansfortheupcomingweek?
    NextweekImgoingtobegingoingtotheIntrotoPhysicsclasseverydayinsteadofjust
    onlabdays,andImgoingtobefulltimecoteachingclassesallweek.
