This represents the beginning and end of the lesson, and
is to be put where it is visible to the students.
Contains two parts:
Daily learning objective: Closing question, product,
or task

WORK IN THE POWER ZONE


Move around the classroom and stay away from
common distractions.
Stay in the same place as the students, and try to be out
from behind the desk.

FREQUENT SMALL GROUPS


Groups: more than 2 students but less than 5.
Discussions every 10 15 minuets
Have prepared seed questions

RECOGNIZE AND REINFORCE


Behavioral and social recognition and reinforcement:
Recognition of behaviors we want to increase
Reinforce of positive behaviors.
Academic recognition and reinforcement:
Recognize academic success
Reinforce of the work and effort it took to master the skills.

WRITING CRITICALLY
Have the students write about what they learned in the
class period in their own words.
The belief is that by doing this, the students will absorb
more of what they went over in class.
