STANDARD 2.

BUILDING FAMILY AND COMMUNITY RELATIONSHIPS


1.

Candidates prepared in early childhood degree programs understand


that successful early childhood education depends upon partnerships with
childrens families and communities. They know about, understand, and value
the importance and complex characteristics of childrens families and
communities. They use this understanding to create respectful, reciprocal
relationships that support and empower families, and to involve all families in
their childrens development and learning.

learning

In my class of 109 Language and Literacy Development in Early


Childhood, I made an assignment Description of a Parent Involvement
Activity, for it I create a flayer inviting parents, a program to develop, a
guide with simple steps to teach Children and explain the importance
of reading aloud.
I designed and develop a Field trip to Wagner Farm, for it I made
flayers, letters of authorization and invitation to parents to be
volunteers in this activity and others considerations like snack, special
necessities, hourlies of trip, following the Trip Planning Form given for
my teacher in class CHD 258 Principles of Preschool Education.
