Survey Analysis

The survey that I administered had a total of 6 questions that were posed so that Way With Words
could gather feedback in a way that communicated what consumers and targeted audiences
thought.
The first question is as follows: What topics would you be interested in a speaker covering?
The options were: Conflict Resolution, Youth Empowerment, Inspiration/Motivation,
Leading in the Workplace, and Love and Relationships. This question was asked so that I
could focus on an area that I not only am comfortable with and have knowledge of, but one
that others would also gravitate toward. The findings are listed.
In the area of Conflict Resolution with 26.09% of survey takers are interested in a
speaker covering this topic. This ranked the second lowest selected option. This option is listed
because lots of issues today stem from individuals not really knowing how to resolve conflicts
effectively. Often it is due to not communicating propperly. The interest area here is low,
however. This could possibly be due to the other choices are seemingly more engaging.
The interesting part of humanity is that we do not like being told that we are wrong or are
doing something wrong. Because conflict resolution could possibly have implications toward a
worng behavior, it is not favored in being discussed. In the area of Youth Empowerment, 42.03%
of surveyers selected this option. Way With Words is built around inspiring, empowering, and
motivating, youth to be better, think better, and live better. To see that over 40% of respondents
are interested in this topic says a lot to Way With Words. It says that people will listen and hear
the tragedies, triumphs, breakthroughs, and shocking power of youth in urban areas. Way With
Words has a withstanding chance to shake the world by helping youth uncover their light within

and educating them of ways to get ahead, stay ahead, and lead. According to 42.03% of
surveyers, they seemingly agree with that charge. This next area of options is one that is highly
ranked among surveyers as the number one choice in interested topics one would like a speaker
to cover. Coming in first place, inspiration/motivation. Over 53% (53.62) of respondents selected
inspiration/motivation as their choice. In more ways than one this is connected to Youth
Empowernent. Way With Words plans to span beyond and reach parents of those who have
influence in the community so that ultimately whole communites are better because we have
better youth.
Leading in the workplace is placed as an option in case there was a draw in those in the
corporate arena and might have been interested in someone speaking on the subject. However,
not to my surprise, it is ranked as the lowest scoring option amongst surveyers. Only 17.39%
thought this topic would be interesting. Lastly, but definitely not least, Love and Relationships
ranked second highest among surveyers. Love and Relationships is one of those topics that
people just dont get tired of. Its intriguing, spirt-feeding, and lots to be learned from this area.
Love is on the list of Maslows Hierarchy of needs. Because it is something that people need,
people do not mind talking about it and I believe that is the reason why it is so highly ranked. To
this question there was an other option that those who did not like the options could list a few of
their own. Because the eBook, that is soon to be released, is focused on economic empowerment
in the black community, one of the other options is Financial Wellness. I thought this to be
quite inteserting and I agree with the respondent. We can weave into our curriculum financial
wellnes when speaking to urban area youth. This also means that people care about finacial
well-being which puts my eBook in a good place. The other Other answer was emotial

development. This involves a great deal of psychology, possibly in the future Way With Words
could address this topic.
The second question is as follows: How much would you be willing to pay a speaker to
speak at an event? The options provided were ranges of $100-150, $150-200, $200-250,
more than $300, and less than $100.
In the range of $100-150, 18.84% of respondents would pay a speaker to come and speak
at an event. This range ranked third amongst all options. The findings here reflect that people
would indeed pay a fee for a speaker. This range was set so that a minimum base amount could
be evealuated. The next option was $150-200. The percentile here was listed as 10.14%. This
option ranks the lowest of them all. This was quite perplexing because in the option that follows,
although it is a higher amount, this option ranked highest of them all at 33.33% of respondents in
a range of $200-250, which of couurse I found to be fine with me. Even the option that follows
of more than $300 does not come in as lowest rank. It is second to lowest, but I found it rather
interesting that of the people surveyed, it is favored to pay $200 and above versus $150-200.
This means that people are willing to pay for value when compared. Lastly, ranking in second
place is the option of being willing to pay a speaker less than $100 at 24.64%.
The third question was asked in regards to the other aspect of Way With Words, which is
spoken word and poetry writing. The queastion is as follows: Would you be willing to have
a poem written for you? The options provided were YES or NO.
The analysis for this question was actually quite easy to evaluate due to there being only
two options to choose from. An overwhelming 63.24% of respondents would be willing to pay to
have a poem wriiten for them. This is great news for Way With Words, it is a good indicator to

keep spoken word and written poetry apart of its business model. While only 36.76% said no, the
next challenge becomes finding the audience that has said yes.
The Fourth question is posed so that material, such as the eBook, coupled with speaking
would have the opportunity to be sold. I wanted to know if the targeted audience agreed.
The question is as follows: Would you likely purchase published material from a speaker
you enjoyed? The options are YES or NO.
An overwheming 91.18% said that they would likely purchase material from a speaker
they enjoyed. Without question, publishing material related to the core of Way With Words
would be a likely purchase from the target audience and can be added to the revenue stream.
The Fifth question was asked so that Way With Words would know where to market that
would attract more of the targeted audience. The question is as follows: What media
channels do you use to select speakers for your event? There were no choices provided,
however the most listed response was YouTube. What does this mean for Way With Words?
It means that marketing on YouTube needs to be aggressive to attract viewers.

The sixth and final question asked respondenets to provide their email address for followup and correspondence.
