MATTER
I. ATOM AND MOLECULE
ATOM - the smallest particle of matter
MOLECULE - combination of two or more atoms
II. PARTICLE MODEL OF SOLID, LIQUID AND GAS

Matter is made up of tiny particles.

Particles of matter are moving all the time.
These particles have spaces between them.
The particles of matter attract each other.

III. PHASE CHANGE

EVAPORATION (Liquid - Gas ) - the process by which the molecules on the surface of a liquid break
away and change into gas. Usually, it is described as the process where a liquid is changed into a gas.
Evaporation is a cooling process.
CONDENSATION (Gas - Liquid) - this process where a gas is changed into a liquid .
MELTING (Solid - Liquid ) - this transformation process in which a solid is changed to a liquid.
FREEZING (Liquid - Solid ) - the process in which a liquid is changed to a solid.
SUBLIMATION (Solid - Gas ) - the process in which a solid is changed into a gas.
DEPOSITION (Gas - Solid ) - the process in which a gas is changed into a solid.
IV. ENDOTHERMIC AND EXOTHERMIC
ENDOTHERMIC - adding heat
EXOTHERMIC - removing heat

ENDOTHERMIC
Boiling
Evaporation
Melting
Sublimation

EXOTHERMIC
Freezing
Condensation
Depostion
