The staff here at Bowen Child Development Center will help your family make this transition as smoothly as possible. My name is Mrs. Cecy, I am please to be the preschool lead for your child. I have been working with young children in various CYS programs for over five years. I have a CDA in child development, a Bachelors degree in psychology, and currently finishing my masters in elementary education. I love to hike outside, go to the beach, photography, and hang out with my three children. Ms. Lisa will be transitioning from the toddler room to the preschool room and we are very excited for her to join our preschool team. Mrs. Lisa has worked in several CYS programs for three years from family childcare, school age, and currently at the child development center. Ms. Lisa enjoys coaching and teaching young children. What Will We Learn
Learning is part of human
development it begins from infancy, and continues through adulthood. Evidence based research shows children learn best through associative play, in a meaningful way. A child can learn several different subjects through interdisciplinary teaching. Our preschool classroom consists of meaningful teaching. Meaningful teaching will have several different subjects introduced while children play. Lesson plans will be individualized according the students readiness level and lesson plans will be directed by the students interest. The first few weeks in preschool children will learn the new classroom routines, name sign in sheets, washing hands, introduction to centers, and whos here today attendance. The first few weeks the classroom will have a smaller ratio of children until the classroom is to capacity of students.
Social Studies: All About My
Culture
Every few month the classroom
will introduce a long- term project. Our preschools long-term project is All About My Culture. The students will be introduced to different cultures represented in our classroom. A parent participation activity will be sent home to represent the students family culture. We look forward to working with all of you and are very excited to open this new room.
