Dear Colleagues:
I am writing this letter of recommendation on behalf of Kaitlynn Hudden, a former teacher candidate of mine from the
Canisius College Special Education/Childhood Education Dual Certification Program. I have had the pleasure of
working with Miss Hudden as an instructor for SPE 291/292 Nature and Needs of Students with Learning Disabilities
and Remedial Strategies in the Content Areas as well as SPE 432 Seminar in Teaching and Assessment. As her course
instructor I can assure you that she conducted herself in a professional manner at all times and completed high quality
work. She got along with all of her classmates and could regularly be counted on providing work that was exemplary.
I was also able to observe her in the field several times and she did an excellent job working with students with
disabilities and received high praise from her cooperating teachers. A review of her transcript while at Canisius shows
that she has performed with extremely high academic honors while participating in many extracurricular activities at
the college.
Katilynn has informed me of her desire to begin applying for teaching positions. She performed extremely well
while a teacher candidate in the Canisius program and I have no doubt that she will continue to grow during her
first years teaching. As you can see by viewing her teaching digital portfolio, she has had a variety of
experiences in both general and special education settings and in both urban and suburban placements. She will
impress you with her strong content and pedagogical knowledge, her willingness to collaborate, and her ability
to relate to students no matter at what level they are functioning. I can not say that about every graduate of our
program, but I would be very happy if Miss Hudden were to teach one of my children. I know that she will give
it her all and help every child achieve to their highest potential.
