To whom it may concern:
I am pleased to recommend Ms. Jenna Coakley to you for employment as a new graduate
registered nurse. I was her clinical instructor during her high acuity rotation in the Medical
Surgical unit and Critical Care Units at St. Josephs Hospital in Tucson, Arizona, while enrolled
in the Baccalaureate Program at the University of Arizona. During this rotation, Ms. Coakley
provided excellent care for patients and their families. Both her academic and clinical
performance was excellent. She also was able to apply and integrate theory into practice
enhancing both her confidence and comfort in providing care.
Ms. Coakley is a hard, loyal worker and some of her strengths include the ability to critically
analyze problems, and present a possible solution. She has a very warm and compassionate
personality and gets along well with patients, families, her peers, and always has a smile on her
face. Her quiet confidence enables her to accept challenging situations and work diligently to
have positive outcomes. In addition, Ms. Coakley quickly acquires new skills and once mastered,
is able to perform independently. She compassionately advocates on behalf of patients and their
families. Ms. Coakleys additional strengths are her excellent written and verbal communication
skills. She is a person who tends to approach situations with a positive attitude, and a smile, and
looks at the world with the glass half full attitude. She was able to deliver independent, safe,
competent nursing care to all her patients, including the critically ill patients, with minimal
supervision of her RN.
I support Ms. Coakleys application for employment as a nurse in her area of interest as I
believe she will make significant contributions to the nursing profession. She is a bright,
knowledgeable, and accountable student who is willing to work hard to meet her goals. She has
proven to be very mature, a team player and supportive of others. Please do not hesitate to
contact me if you have questions regarding her qualifications.
Sincerely,
Carrie Silvers RN, MSN
