RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

A double-pipe heat exchanger was utilized to evaluate and demonstrate the

heat transfer between steam and water. The overall heat transfer coefficient of a
double-pipe exchanger was calculated and varied depending on the range of valve
opening (full opening, opening, opening and opening). The variation of valve
opening was done to vary the mass flow rate of water entering the heat exchanger.
