Introduce the activity at large group before going home day prior.
Middle:
Children will bring objects from home that is meaningful to them. Tell the class about the
object and why they decided to bring it.
Extensions:
Earlier:
Describing what it is they decided to bring.
Later:
Getting in front of the class and telling a story about their object.
End
Children will put their items from home back in their cubby after they have presented
Follow-up Ideas:
1. Follow up on what everyone brought at the end of the day to see if classmates
remember
2. Having another show and tell by having them bring in something of a certain
color.
