After showing children the video about rectangle, I will
put pictures in the PowerPoint, which are full of shapes
including circle, triangle square and rectangle. They
have to point only on the rectangle shape. I will ask
each child individually to search the rectangle in the
picture and point at it.
Activity 2: Discovering the features of rectangle
activity. I will create a rectangle using clay and sticks in
front of children. I will show them the steps of making
this rectangle. Then, I will explain for them the features
of rectangle by asking them question. For example,
how many sides the rectangle have? How many angle
it have? They will count using rational concept. Once
they understand the feature, I will give them clay and
sticks to make the rectangle as I did. I will give them
some instruction on how to use the sticks in the right
way to avoid hearting others and ourselves.
Activity 3: Drawing the rectangle activity. I will
provide children boards and markers. I will ask them to

Learning Goals/Outcomes:

Description of Activities:

Recognize number 1 and 2

shapes.

Main area of learning:

Cognitive.

Identify both of concrete

and abstract meaning for
number 1 and 2.

Fine motor skills.

Engage children in writing

the number 1 and 2.

Kinesthetic.

Explain about the part of the

body whether its 1 or 2.
Distinguish between the
number 1 and number 2.
Capacity and interest in
counting both rational and
rote counting.

Language.

Social.

Class: KG 2/ 5

Activity 1: Mimi doll activity. I will bring a doll and

show it to the children. In this activity, I will ask children
about the part of the body and how many of it. I will
say, show me things that are 1 or 2 in your body. They
will explore and find that they have 2 eyes, 2 ears, 2
hands, 1 mouth, and 1 head. Children will engage and
explore by touching the part of the body in the doll.
They will identify the part of the body, which is number
1 and 2. This activity will be in a group.
Activity 2: Showing students part of the body
activity. I will create a PowerPoint. In the PowerPoint, I
will put on it pictures of the part of the body. For
example, eyes, mouth, nose and head. I will provide for
each students sticks with number 1 and 2. When I will
show them the pictures, children will count the object
first then they will raise the number of object whether
its 1 or 2. This activity will be individual. During this
activity, I want to teach children to recognize the
concept of concrete.
Activity 3: teach the symbol of number 1 and 2. I will
show the children the symbol of the number 1 and 2. I
will teach them how to write the number 1 and 2 as a
story. For example, the car with move from up to down
to get to the boy which will make the number 1. For
number 2, I made a little story which is the stars want
to come together. Therefore, they have to match from
the first star to the second by drawing half circle. Then,
they have to match from the second star to the third
by drawing line down. Finally, they have to draw a
straight line from the third star to the fourth star. After
I finish explanation for them the shape and the symbol
of numbers, I will give students cards to write. This
activity will be individual.
High-level Activity: Draw, count and write the
numbers 1 and 2. I will give students a worksheet,
which include empty face. Students will draw eyes,
ears, nose, mouth and ears in the face. Then, they will
write the number of each one of them. They will
recognize that the two objects represent to symbol 2.
They will be able to understand the abstract concept.

Medium level Activity: Classifying numbers 1 and 2

from other numbers. I will give children a worksheet
and papers with different number of objects. Students
have to cut the objects. Then, they have to put the
papers that they cut on the box in the worksheet of
number 1 or 2 column if the object is 1 or 2 item
individually. Then, they have to color the objects. The
benefit of this activity is that it will improve the
mathematical concept, which is rational counting. In
addition, they will know how to distinguish between
number 1 and 2.
Low level Activity: Make number 1 and 2 with clay. I
will give students a worksheet with a clay. Through
clay, they will make the shape of both number 1 and 2
individually. They will make 2 eyes for the number 2
worksheet and nose for number 1 worksheet.
