Beauty, The True Beast
Narrator: Once upon a time in an enchanted land, lived a girl named
Beauty. Though she was as beautiful as the shimmering blue sea,
she was wicked as wicked could be. Her father, Maurice, had given
up hope, for even the towns most obnoxious Gaston had refused to
take her hand and elope.
Maurice: Beauty, what has become of you? Once, you were kind,
and had a generous soul. Now, you see everything around you as
less than you.
Beauty: Oh father, dont be silly. I have everything I want and need.
Maurice: Beauty, you have been blinded. You have lost your
kindness, your love, and your ..
Gaston: Your heart! You have lost your heart, as you no longer see
any of us as your friend or your neighbor.
Narrator: Beautys face remained unchanged, not even her father or
Gastons remarks could make her see what she has become. Some
have called her a witch and heartless. Maurice and the towns people
sent Beauty to the forest where she was to live with The Beast. The
Beast, despite his appearance, was believed to be a curer of all that
is ill.
Beast: You will say here as long as you need, until you find your
heart, your kindness, and see the world as equal to you in beauty.

Narrator: After 6 long months of living with the Beast, Beauty began
to change. Her heart grew warm as she cared for the Beast, and she
longed to return to her father. She returned to her town to thank her
father, but she returned to the forest to live with the Beast. Their
friendship had grown, and together the Beast continues to help
Beauty see the world as something beautiful.
