OIL SPILL IN THE GULF OF MEXICO

Making Extensive Efforts to Fix the Environment
Panama Beach City, FL, April 20, 2010 BP is actively working to fix the problems that have occurred
from the Deepwater Horizon oil rig that recently exploded in the Gulf of Mexico. We are saddened to
announce that the explosion has killed 11 people along with endangering thousands of animals. Our
mission is to keep the community safe and effectively clear the oil out of the ocean in order to ensure
the safety of the animals. We intend to take every step to make sure our mission is reached.
"The safety of the people working offshore is our top priority and the improved
weather has created better conditions for our response," said BP Group Chief
Executive Tony Hayward. "This, combined with the light, thin oil we are dealing with
has further increased our confidence that we can tackle this spill offshore."
We plan to release weekly progress reports for the updates of the oil wells and the water it is effecting.
We will be monitoring the situation with extreme attention to detail and will remain completely
transparent throughout our efforts of fixing the ecological damage that was caused by this horrific
event.
We realize this situation is extremely harmful to the environment and the companies around the Gulf.
We express our deepest condolences and wish to assure everyone that we will not stop until the
problem is solved.
