Week of: 12/7 12/11

This Weeks News:
Last week was a busy week after the holidays. We began praying
as a whole school in celebration of Advent. We began our Social Studies
unit of Christmas/Holidays around the world. We flew to Mexico this
past week and began using our passport. In Literacy, we worked on sequence of events, the ch diagraph and homophones. In math, we worked
on our subtraction strategies, related facts, and making ten to subtract.
This week, we will be working with the sh, wh, and ph diagraph as well as
adding different endings to a word (-s,-es,-ed,-ing). We will be discussing cause and effect to build our comprehension. In grammar, our focus
will be on subject and verbs and introducing contractions. In math, we
will be working with different fact families to build our number fluency in
both addition and subtraction as well as working with equations with a
missing addend. We will also be spiraling several activities and lessons
that will be review of more difficult concepts in preparation of our next
assessment on the 16th.

Friendly Reminders:
We are collecting many things for different crafts and
activities. Send in what you can, we will have plenty for
those who do not. I have already been collecting.
Pine cones and cereal box (Wed 9th)
toilet paper rolls, shoe box/similar size to hold toilet paper rolls (by Monday 14th)

Superstar of the Week:

Isabel

Isabel joined the group of students for aftercare.

She was excited to participate and did a great
job with her transition!

At this Christmas when Christ

comes, will He find a warm heart?
Mark the season of Advent by loving and serving the others with
God's own love and concern.
