Newsaswellasexposethemfortheiruseofpropagandafortherightwingconservativesbut
alsotoshowhowtheyhavedirectlyhurtnewsjournalism.Butoneshouldnotholdthatagainst
thevideobecausewhattheyaresayingaboutFoxNewsiscompletelytrue.However,theway
theypresenttheinformationandthesourcestheyuseobviouslyareusedtoswayyouropinionof
them.However,inthisdayandagethevideoisredundant,andthereasoningbehindthis
statementwillbepresentedlaterinthepaper.
Greenwaldusesmanydifferentsourcesinthevideo.Oneofthebiggestsourceshowever
canseemverycredibletoanuninformedviewer.OneofthesebeingtheuseofformerFoxNews
reporters.Thissourcecanseemverycredibletoanuninformedpersonbecausetheyareformer
employeesofFoxNews,thereforetheyshouldknowhowthestationfunctionsaswellaswhat
exactlythenewsstationistryingtopresenttothepublic.Whilethisistrue,thekeythingto
noticehereisthattheyare
former
employees.Whatneedstobeaddressedinthevideoisjust
exactlywhotheformeremployeesare(whatdidtheydoatFoxNews)aswellaswhytheyno
longerworkthere.IfoneoftheformerreporterswerefiredfromFoxNews,whywerethey
fired?Andsincetheywerefiredtheywouldprobablyholdsomeanimositytowardsthestation

whichcoulddiscrediteverythingtheysay.Addingthisbitofinformationwouldmakethe
sourcesmorecredibletothepeoplethatgomoreindepthwiththevideo.Becauseofnothaving
thisinformation,oneshouldfeelthatit'sareasonthatthevideoisnotallowingpeopletodevelop
afairopiniononFoxNewsbasedonthevideo.However,thisiswhereansweringthequestions
givenbecomesdifficult.Yes,thevideomakesitclearthatFoxNewslikestospewRepublican
propagandaandidealsatitsviewsandyes,itisobviousthatthevideoisusingthisinformation
todiscreditFoxNews.However,evenwiththeobviousbiasthevideocreatesbynotcomparing
FoxNewstootherStationssuchasCNNandMSNBC,thevideoisntwrong.FoxNewsis
entirelybiasedtowardstheRepublicanparty,whichmayhavebeenbignewsin2004,buttoday
in2015itisnot.
However,thevideodoesinformtheviewerofjusthowbiasedFoxNewsisasopposedto
justknowingthatFoxNewsisbiased.Asstatedearlier,FoxNewsisverywidelyknowntoday
asbeingbiasedbutitislesscommonknowledgeofjustexactlywhatwayitisbiased.Oneofthe
waysitexposesitforbeingbiasedisbyshowingthevotingpolls.Thepollsshowninthevideo
exposedtheviewersofFoxNewsfornotknowingtherealinformationaboutasubjectbut
insteadofknowingfalseinformationaboutthesubjectwhichwaspresentedtothemviaFox
News.ThesepollsshowthatnotonlyisFoxNewsbiasedbutthatthepeoplethatactuallyfollow
thisnewsstationtrulybelievewhattheyarewatching.Whichatthetimethevideowas
released,wasscary,buttoday,itisreality.ThepeoplethatwatchFoxNewsaswellasother
biasednewsstationskeepknowinglessandlessabouttheactualsubjectathandandmoreof
whatthepartytheyagreewithwantsthemtothink.Thesenewstationshavegainedtoomuch
controlandtoolargeafollowingsothattheynowactuallycontrolpolitics,whichisscary.The

newstationshaveevenchangedtheissueswefocuson,aspointedoutataboutthe31:45mark
byRepresentativeBernieSanders.Theyhavecreatedadivideamongthecitizensofthecountry
andcreatedtwodifferentworldsofpeoplebasedoffoftwopoliticalparties.Anditallstarted
withRupertMurdochsFoxNewsStation.
Evenwithallofthisbeingsaid,thevideostilldoesnotallowtheviewertomakean
informedchoicein2015.Thisisbecausepoliticalmediahasbecomesuchahugetopiconsocial
mediathatsomanypeoplealreadyhaveanopiniononnewsstationssuchasFoxNews.Not
onlythatbutthevideofailedtoshowwhattheothernewsstationstalkabout.Yes,they
showedthepolls,butitisinherenttoshowtheotherstationsbroadcastsandspecialshowssuch
asFoxNewsOReillyFactor.Thevideoshouldhavedonethistoshowthefulleffectofthe
propagandabeingusedandhowithasaffectedjournalism.NotjusthowFoxNewshasaffected
journalism.BecausethevideoonlyspecificallytargetedFoxNews,itisbiasedtoshamingFox
NewsandnotalsotalkingabouttheotherstationsthatusethesametechniquesasFoxNews.
Overall,thevideoisinformativeaboutthebiasFoxNewsshowsduringitsbroadcasts.
However,thevideoisredundantin2015becausethebiasshownisalreadyknownbyeveryone.
Everyoneremotelyinvolvedinpoliticsknowsthatthemajornewstationsusepolitical
propagandatogetviewersaswellasgainafollowing,soevenwiththevideobeingbiased
againstFoxNews,itdoesn'treallymatter,becausethethingsbeingsaidarealreadyknown.
Overall,thevideodoesnotallowtheviewertomakeaninformedopinionintodaystime
becauseeveryonealreadyknowsaboutFoxNewsaswellasothernewsstationsbias.
