December Holiday Traditions

Presentation and
Informational Writing Project

Dear Parent,
Informational writing is an important skill in fourth grade
and what better time to share information with one another
than the December Holidays! Though most of us may
celebrate some of the same holidays, we all have our own
unique family and cultural traditions.
As part of this project, I welcome you or another relative
(Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles) to come in and visit our
classroom and tell about your family tradition along with
your fourth grade student.
To add to the excitement of the season, we will be doing a
Secret Santa in class. Students will draw names and
bring in a small gift for that person on Tuesday,
December 23rd. Gifts should be non-edible, appropriate for
school and under $10 in value please!
Please sign the attached acknowledgment and permission
slip and return it to me by Wednesday, December 9th.
Thank you and Happy Holidays!
Mrs. Bates
