Miss Howes Kindergarten Class

Background Information and


Overview
O In our Unit of Study we have gone over

mathematical standards with activities that we


have done in the classroom. These would
include: Know number names and the
count sequence, and comparing numbers.
O These things include, Count to 100 by ones
and by tens, Count forward beginning from a
given number within the known sequence
(instead of having to begin at 1), Write
numbers from 0 to 20, and Identify whether
the number of objects in one group is greater
than, less than, or equal to the number of
objects in another group, e.g., by using
matching and counting strategies.

Motivational Scenario

O Once you finish your work, you can

create an online invitation for your


parents to come in and see your
work as it will be displayed! The
information you can include on your
invitation are as follows:
O Date: December 8th, 2015 at 6-8pm
O This will include a $3 fee for each
family member who arrives for the
social.

Roles of Students

teach the lesson.

information on numbers that we have
already gone over in class.

vocabulary words!

Conclusion
O This will give students the opportunity to

gives them something interactive so they can
use their math skills while doing something
visual to interpret the message the numbers
they are giving mean.
O It will gives the students an opportunity to
reflect because they participated hands on with
an activity related to their math skills. They can
reflect by using their previous knowledge and
applying it to their new knowledge.
