Honors English I Semester Project (Final Exam)

WHATS THE CONNECTION!?


So far this year you have read some relatively heavy works of literature that examine the human spirit. These works can be
interpreted as representing the darkest parts of humanity, but through the right lens we can also see examples of how people
shine through at their best. Your job is to connect the pieces of literature that weve read this semester through a common
theme.
THE PROMPT:

Design a project for your portfolio examining a single theme that unites three or more of
the works we read this semester (one from each of the following genres).
You must use
at least
THREE of the texts that we have read this semester,
one from each genre

Your project should have the following components:
be multimedia (contain three different types of media)
You must EMBED media into your project you cant just supply a link to a different page
be thorough in its construction and answer the prompt
be published on a separate page of your digital portfolio (weebly website)
Prior to exam day (during review week):
You will be given time to create your webpage.
You will be allowed ONE LIFELINE where you may quietly ask me for assistance in developing your page. Otherwise you
will be working in SILENCE.
You should bring a pair of headphones that you will be able to use for the purposes of previewing audio for any of the
sources you choose to embed
On the day of the final exam:
You will present your project to the class (34 minute presentations)
You will write a selfassessment to reflect on the project
Your grade
Will be heavily weighted toward your work on this project, BUT
Will also include your work on your ENTIRE digital portfolio not just your final project
Will include a reflection and presentation portion (on the rubric).

DIGITAL PORTFOLIO CHECKLIST


Your entire digital portfolio should include the following components:
HOME PAGE
Should have an introductory message and a brief biography of you.
Should include internal links to your other pages.
THE HEROS JOURNEY
Should include internal links for your three subpages.
Sublink #1 for The Odyssey and the Hero Cycle
This includes your prezi and a brief description of why you made it.
