    Coated precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) provides benefits at multiple stages of the plastics production process. During compounding, its fine, rhombohedral particles disperse well and reduce gelation time. During extrusion, PCC allows for easy flow with low viscosity, less wear on equipment due to its smooth texture, and reduced plate out. In the end product, PCC improves shade, surface finish, tensile strength, modulus of elasticity, weather resistance, and whiteness. Adding 10-25% optimally used PCC and natural calcium carbonate provides the best physical properties.
