Source Type: The source is a secondary book source, it was created after Pink Floyd was
created.
Summary: The book is basically about many contemporary musicians with a specific
section focusing on Syd Barret. Syd Barret was a founding member of Pink Floyd, and
Pink Floyd would not have existed without his influence. The book talks of his huge
influence on the bands first album and how Syd eventually left the band due to his
mental illness and unpredictability.
Evaluation: This source is credible because of the way the author tells us a story, or
report and its inclusion of other sources. The source also seems good because of the fact
that the book is a biography of musicians.
Application: I will most likely use this source in how the band was formed and its major
inspirations for the music it created.

Source Type: This source is a secondary book source, it was created after Pink Floyd
became popular.
Summary: This source describes how Pink Floyd was one of the most popular
progressive rock bands and that it has broken virtually every convention in popular
music. The source describes the earlier years of Floyd, as well as the peak of their
popularity, and the quitter time of the 90s.
Evaluation: This source is credible because of the way it presents the information, the
source is trusted as an academic site.

Application: This information would be used to help describe the overall story of the
band, how they were formed, popularity, and decline. As well as some of their popular
albums.

Source Type: This is a secondary book source created after David Gilmour and Pink
Floyd were rising in popularity.
Summary: The article explains Gilmours role in the band and how he interacted with
fellow members and how the music was produced with his influence.
Evaluation: The source is credible because it is from a biographical book and tells his
story with the band.
Application: The source will be used to help tell a better story of the band by introducing
another one of the key members that helped to produce the music the band is so famous
for.

Summary: The source tells how Waters took over the creative leadership of the band

bands modern sound.
Evaluation: The source is credible because its from a biographical book and tells the
story of Roger Waters.
Application: This source will be used explain the different thought processes of the
individual band members as they created their music.

Rolling Stone magazine, in an online format.
Application: This source will help immensely with how to explain the bands rise to
fame and popularity as well as their creative minds of it all.

Evaluation: This source is good because it digs into the meaning of one of Pink Floyds
most popular albums of all time.
Application: This article will be very useful when describing how the bands music
really meant more than met the eye, it was of a deeper meaning, and had much more
significance.
