Mr. Bob Wallace
Manager
98674 Dellwood Lane
Coos Bay, OR 97420
Dear Mr. Bob Wallace:
I am writing to apply for the Forest Engineer position that has recently just opened. I
have followed, worked for, and also interned for the previous engineer, Jason
Richardson, stationed at the Dellwood office. Engineering being my life passion,
along with the enjoyment of working outside in natures office has brought me to
search religiously for open forest engineering positions.
My concentration has been focused with extensive math classes at Southwestern
Oregon Community College which has taught me to always configure numbers in
any situation that may seem uncertain. When used right, the leftover uncertainty
can be cleared up with the correct use of numbers, formulas, equations, etc. I have
also learned how to effectively identify different species of trees, work with the
natural watershed, and also how to read aerial maps of a tree farm. Yet working for
Richardson construction building bridges and culverts alienates me from most.
My time with Richardson construction has motivated me more to acquire this
position. Ive seen how one may efficiently repair a sunken grade, or even how to
read and put paper plans into action. Taking orders from a successful forest
engineer for a widespread tree farm has created new communication skills for me.
Ive seen how poor communication can harm an outfits work ethic, while great
communication may benefit the crew exponentially.
My personality consists of being persistent, and sometimes stubborn. Although,
these two traits may not seem like something to gloat about, they are some of the
best I have. For when it comes to a job that must get done, my day wont end until I
am fully confident that the deadline wont be an issue. Troubles and other time
consisting factors must be worked around and fixed in timely manners in order to
finish the job on proficient terms.
Stapled to this page, I have enclosed my qualifications, resume, and references if
needed. I appreciate you giving me the time by looking it over and considering me
for this position. I would welcome the opportunity for an interview to discuss more
about the position and my qualifications. If you may have any questions regarding
my application, feel free to give me a call at (541) 260-8745 or email me at
hunterjackson101289@gmail.com. I look forward to your response.
Sincerely,

Mr. Bob Fields
Manager

Dear Mr. Fields,

Thanks again for giving me the opportunity for working for you and the umpire
association. I can say its been one of the best jobs Ive ever had.
My reason for writing is to request a recommendation letter. I have known, and
worked with you for the past year now, and I figure that you could describe my work
ethic better than most.
Umpiring has taught me some stern, yet involved communication skills that I shall
carry with me throughout my career. With this years upcoming baseball season, I
hope to get as much time behind the plate as possible, so I can keep getting better
at it. I see umpiring more as a passion of the game, rather than a mandatory job.
Again, I appreciate you giving me some job experience and the chance to get back
into the game.
I would greatly appreciate it if you could write me a recommendation letter, as it will
influence me in numerous ways. Thanks again, and if you may have any questions,
you may contact me at (541) 260-8745 or email me at
hunterjackson101289@gmail.com. Hope to hear back from you soon.
Sincerely,
Hunter T. Jackson
