Painting with Haneen

Haneen, today we had the paint table ready for you and your peers to explore. You took the
yellow paint pot and started brushing it all over your paper. Moments before painting, we
were singing to some shape songs on the tablet and as you were painting, you sang the circle
part of the song and you started painting a circle on your canvas. It was good to see you use
previous knowledge Haneen, well done!
Haneen, you are drawn to sensory experiences. You thoroughly enjoy sand, water, play
dough and painting, and today we watched you as you became an artist. You practiced
over and over again the motions of a painter, particularly the circular movements. You
admired the brush strokes that were left on your canvas and most importantly, you
experienced the joy that comes of creating. Haneen, while you were busy painting
expressing your creativity, you were also developing your hand and eye coordination.
Haneen, we will continue to offer you a variety of sensory experiences. Perhaps next
time we paint, we can use primary colours and make different pairings so we can make
new colour discoveries.
