Overview
Georgetown College and the Communication, Culture & Technology (CCT)
Graduate Program have launched a new Accelerated Master of Arts (M.A.)
Degree Program. College students may apply to the CCT Program in spring of
junior year or fall of senior year. If accepted, undergraduate students may
double-count six credits toward both degrees, and may apply an additional
six credits solely to the M.A. degree. Candidates of the Accelerated Program
can then complete the M.A. in 1 or 1.5 years, rather than 2 years.
CCT Program
CCT is an interdisciplinary graduate program focusing on challenges posed by
new technologies in a range of fields, including research, government,
politics, arts, media, communication, business, health, and medicine.
Students develop knowledge and conceptual tools to assume leadership roles
in business, policy and academic sectors that must function within a rapidly
growing information society and keep pace with technological change.
CCT Degree
Candidates complete 39 credits, including 9 credits of required courses in
research methods, interdisciplinary methods, and unpacking technologies
as socio-technical systems. Students then complete 30 elective credits in
course clusters of their choosing, e.g., media & politics; globalization;
cultural studies; art, media, & representation; or, technology, information,
and innovation policy.
