Line Tag: Have students warm up by playing line tag.

-Direct students that they cannot step off a line, jump from one line
to another, they must only move on lines at intersections.
-Tell 3 students to be it and give them a pinnie.
-Once you are tagged you must sit down and become a road block.
No one can move past you or over you.
-alter rules as game progresses, ie no walking on certain coloured
lines.
Have a student help set up the bases around the gym
ICEBERG
Set up four bases in the shape of a softball diamond.
-Divide class into a fielding team and a batting team. Emphasize
that there are no outs for the teams and everyone will have a
chance at bat before we change up the sides.
1. A fielderthe pitcherwill toss the ball toward the batter so that
the ball bounces in front of home plate. Batter kicks the ball.
2. batter will then run the bases. As the batter is running, every
fielder must run to and touch the ball, once they have all touched
the ball they yell iceberg and the batter must freeze where he/she is
at even if he/she is between bases.
3. After the next better hits the ball, the base runner continues to
run as the new runner begins to make way around the bases until
they hear iceberg.

4. switch batting and fielding teams once everyone has had a

chance at bat.

-Put all equipment away and debrief. Ask students to raise hand if
they were able to run all of the bases. Ask to raise hands if they
were able to throw, kick a ball with accuracy. Ask to raise hands if
they felt they worked well as a team during the the Iceberg game.
-Dismiss my grade to line up quietly at the door.
