Dear hiring manager:
When I read about the student associate software engineering position at SRI International, I
knew I wanted it because I have always wanted to integrate my computer science knowledge
with other fields such as biology and mechanical engineering, which is something I would be
able to do at SRI. The ability to write code and see the results of code beyond images on a
screen is something I deeply enjoy and would like to get more experience with.

This position is something I would be good for because I already have experience in C++, Java,
Javascript, Javascript Frameworks, Python, embedded systems, and Agile development. I am a
very fast learner and would be able to adapt to conditions and learn anything I need to very
quickly. I love problem solving and programming, so I believe I would be an excellent fit for this
position. Last summer, I worked at an online banking company in Austin called Q2. There, I
gained a lot of experience coordinating work with others using version control (Git) and Agile
development. I believe the skills I gained there are not skills that I would have ever learned in
school, and I would like to bring them to SRI.
